Pie and Mee are my most inquisitive hamsters ever! They absolutely adore staring at me from where ever they’re standing in their cages, and sometimes would climb higher up to get a better view. Although they’re still really timid, but that usually doesn’t stop them from running to the door of their cage when they spot it open.

If you were to put your finger at the side of their cage, that’s enough to pique their interest enough to run forward to give it a sniff. Because they’re so shy, once they get a whiff of human, they run to the opposite end of the cage. A couple of seconds later though, they will run back to give it another sniff! This typically repeats some three or four times before they lose interest. :)

If you haven’t been following my flickrstream, dear Miss Sushi has passed on to join her former cagemates Pudding, Tofu and Dumpling over at the rainbow bridge. She was a proud 2y8mth old little hamster. More details about that here.

Urm, Mint Tea being sexy. I thought he was just munching on some nom he stored in his cheek pouches till after the photo was taken. Haha, perhaps he misses Muffin too much. ;)

Not to be outdone, here is Andora’s little sleepy sultry face. She was actually just sleepy. :P

Lastly, one of the sweet Asian small-clawed otters at the Singapore Zoo. I love to visit them between the opening and their first feeding, they’re often so sleepy then that it’s easy to take photos of them yawning. If you want to see that too, as their feeding time is at 10.30am, do reach them at least 15 minutes prior to that.

If you don’t drop by my flickr stream regularly, you won’t know that Dumpling left for the rainbow bridge on 22 June also. He’s dearly missed, especially by Sushi, his girl-ham-friend.

Busy ants. Was out at Alexandra Hospital’s butterfly garden some time ago with Debbie and Alwin.

These ants are actually rather big!

We dropped by Hort Park right after that (then on to Henderson Waves…which reminds me that the RAWs aren’t processed yet — oops). It’s worth a look-see, albeit on a weekday if possible. They’ve got some interesting plants there. Unless you continue the outing to either end of the southern ridges park, the botanic gardens might be more fun though. So man-made.

With Dumpling under the rainbow bridge now, Mint Tea is the current holder of the most handsome hamster I have. He’s really greedy though! Here he is, munching down on a b-chip.

From one of the airwells (?) in Fort Siloso, taken on one of the outings with Debbie and Alwin again. I like Fort Siloso, but it’s a little spooky to go there alone. Hahah, I’ve been reading too many ghost stories and have an overly active imagination. Bundle that with pure-o OCD, it leaves someone who’s incredibly able to spook herself out.

Anyway, I really like the colours in this one! I think the colours turned out this funky because the light was metered differently? It’s sunlight at the top, and a yellow bulb at the bottom.

How common is this strange fruit my sister called the “pepple”? It looks like some pear and apple chimera. We dropped by Jelita and saw it for sale, but I totally can’t recall what they labelled it as.

With Dumpling’s passing, the robos cage looked a little too empty, thus this new addition! My very first normal roborovski boy. Dumpling and Pudding were white faces.

Mee’s really curious, but timid! As usual, thanks to my dominant girls, he’s ham-pecked. ;)

Cheeky Pancake looking beggingly. This little guy’s a sweetheart, but D and I learnt that he’s escape prone like Pudding, Tofu and Pie! He loves attention from people, ah but Andora absolutely hates it!

Whenever she sees me playing with Pancake, she’d come over and nudge my hand, prompting me to put him back and give her a nice massage instead. If I were to leave Pancake running in front of Andora, if she happens to be in a bad mood, she’d actually pounce at him! It shocked me, sis and mom when we saw it happen. Bad Andora!

When D and I were waiting for Dr Hsu to be done with Mocha and Enoki at his telok kurau clinic, since we had time to kill, I decided to take D for a walk along east coast park. Hahah, the same length I liked to do when I cycle, except by foot this time! We walked all the way from east coast macs to the national sailing centre. It was utter madness for her, but really fun for me. Before she comes to kill me, I must stop gushing about how enjoyable it was. ;)

My two aged hamsters acting lovey dovey. Wonder how much time they have left. Dumpling has been week and wobbly for a couple of months already.

My little diva bun having the cutest look on her face. The bunny has her own blog now! I can’t be bothered to set up another one at wordpress because I don’t want to have to sign in and out of this one. :P

Also, the sis has finally completed her studies in the US and is back.

Andora wants adding if you are a bunny too! :D

I’m like this total idiot. Forgot that I had the mighty mouse still under warranty, and totally dismantled the whole thing to clean out the lint trapped inside. Needless to say, the mouse’s warranty should be effectively voided. Argh.

Got too used to cleaning the older mighty mouse I got for the powerbook when it first came out ages ago that I forgot I shouldn’t be doing this yet. Darn. I could have gotten it cleaned by the repairs centre or even have it replaced (I guess). I could have waited, since I’ve got two other mice at home.

Sheesh. At least I’m already quite an expert in dismantling and cleaning it out. Still. So stupid!

(This is actually the insides of my first mighty mouse, not this 5mths old one I shouldn’t have taken apart.)

Pancake stretching on the coffee table. :) Oops, the focus was on the wrong point. He was moving so quickly I had to focus manually so I won’t miss anything, thus it was a tad hit and miss since I still am not fast enough. He gets so zippy after he finishes his treats!

An old photo of Dumpling I just found when I was collating the photos in my portable HD, powerbook and G4. He still had his sight and was healthy here. :\

Andora thinks I am a mean bun-mommy, I bet. Silly girl hates being cradled, but I have to do that time to time to check her teeth, or clean out her eye snot, or teary-wet fur (she’s rather sensitive to all those dust generated by that stupid lift upgrading project that won’t end), or just because I want to do it more to tame her (:P). After she squirmed and kicked her way out, leaving two scratch marks on my arm, she foot-flicked away to the front of my door. There she stood, staring at me. That’s when she lifted her tail, all ready to pee a puddle on my carpet in spite. o.O Thank goodness I stopped her in time.
